Dussera over and now Diwali comes 🙂
And Here are some more sling bags, which I embroidered before and stitched recently
I have fallen in love with all my sling bags so I’m finding it emotional to part with them. I made these for gifting, but the effort and the thrill I got in making them, I dont feel like gifting it to others.
But obviously I cannot use them all, so there they go to my relatives and friends.
Now my wish is reduced to the hope they love and appreciate the sling bags.
Now coming back to the embroidery details.
I already blogged the gopur design here and from Preethi’s blog.
The Kutch design is usual one, but this one I did with Cretan stitch base similar to how Preethi has done her Gopur Design base.
The Cathedral window design is from my Kantha embroidery kurta but embroidered in Herringbone stitch.
The other Sikku Kolam design is stitched using Italian knot stitch which I learnt from Anitha’s blog here
This is again a simple mirror embroidery with some embellishments.
This is a Sikku Kolam design stitched with Chain stitch. I ran out of the handle fabric and so used a left over material (from a skirt).
After making, I loved the contrast.

Quick Post to wish you all a Happy Navarathiri.
I made this wall hanging is the smallest possible time. Not that I was very busy. It took very less time.
Inspiration came from
Long back I have seen this video and it was in my most fav list( do you have levels of favorite list and levels of To do list.. I have fav, must do fav, always fav, to do list, to do immedietely, to do whenever time allows,to do if you need) and well as we all know, it is only in list. In reality, lets not talk about it.. We know each others secrets 😀
During my last visit to Raja Market, I picked up these boards with the similar project in mind.
And within few days, I made this.
Mine is nowhere close to the original and primarily not neat, but I learnt few tricks when I made and ready to use next time.
(One being, not to keep so many dots everywhere)
I did not notice that the Mirrors has reflected so many details of our balcony. Otherwise I would have taken in more open space. Anyways better work next time..
