Blog Award

Hi All,

versatileblogger111

I received an Award from Anu of twinhobbies

Thanks Anu for appreciating me as a Versatile Blogger.
I have high plans & hopes to improvise my blog with various interesting stuff.
The Only issue is all are in my mind, nothing materializes to the blog world.

Now to the Rules of the Award.

Thank the person who gave you this award and include a link to their blog.
Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

Thanks Anuradha, I like Anu’s posts especially those portraying her twin little daughters. They are adorable angels πŸ™‚

1. I love books, I imagine the place, people and everthing and it mesmerizes me as they take me into a different world in less that few minutes of reading.

2.I aimed to become a culinary expert from my school & college days but I have gone in totally different direction.

3. I don’t really believe in Successful or Worthy, I like to trust people and always wish to have nice time with them.

4. I have less patience with kids, though I can play with them, tell stories or engage with them. I could hardly make them to do what I want. πŸ™‚

5. I always have some or the other thoughts running in my mind, the more I control, more chatty it becomes.

6.Recently(a year back) I started reading Jane Austen and finished 6 of her 7 novels. I re-read and re-read them often. After that, I have less liking towards current trend novels.

7.Finally my likings, I like red color , most(3/5) of my dresses are red based. I love sweet but on the verge of getting Diabetes. I love to ride 2-wheeler and fear driving a car( I have learnt it twice).I like knitting though I have started it very recently.
I always like to think and write for my blogs. I like to read the past posts and wonder how did I do that!!
Most of my time goes in blog hopping. I love pinterest too πŸ™‚ Doesn’t come as surprise right!!

And finally thanks for all the bloggers worldwide for being inspiration, thats for the readers and comments. They give the occasional( but very much wanted) push to blog more often and catalog the crafty adventures.

Sunday Dancing

Hi All,

Winter is gone & Summer came and went without showing up much. But I made this sweater several months back when winter was approaching.

2012-10-24 17.10.56

I choose this pattern for it was looking easy & simple. But it was highly confusing, so I made changes as per my wish. I did not make as many number of increases as mentioned, nor I made the lacy shell, for it was looking so bulgy with this yarn and the hook I used. So went with simple 3dc shell.

For sleeves, they are 3/4th by length, but when my daughter wears, it becomes almost half 😦
I did the shell pattern for the sleeves as well, but when I tried it on her, her tiny fingers were getting caught on the holes and so I ripped the shells and used dcs with decreases.

She was not willing to wear it initially(whenever I wanted to try it on her, she was resisiting) but now after finishing she wants to wear it. God only knows what kids think.

Every Sunday we go to nearby Uthkarsh park and though it is in the afternoon, the winds are chilly. So she is wearing the sweater for the Sunday visits to the park.

The Buttons looks more matching in real, somehow in the pictures, they don’t look matching with the sweater.
I added buttons only for the top part as it will be easy and free in the bottom. Also I find it comfortable for her when she sits & play.

Knitting & Crochet Week

Knitting & Crochet Week

One year from now, when the 5th Knitting & Crochet Blog Week rolls around, where do you hope your crafting will have taken you to? What new skills, projects and experiences do you hope you might have conquered or tried?

Knit has fascinated me with its texture and the fineness(compared to crochet). And so I have started to knit recently.
And when you are bitten by a bug, whatever u saw inspires you to create. Yes, On the same day I saw my friend wearing a cabled pullover and I desired to knit it.
So A year from now,I’m looking forward to master the skill of knitting and complete the cable pullover.

It is something similar to this

This is a top down sweater of an adult male which is my husband and I wish to knit a similar one in yellow or orange or pink or purple for myself, when I finish the just cast on sweater for my daughter πŸ™‚

4KCBWDAY6 – A Tool To Covet Write about your favorite knitting or crochet (or spinning, etc) tool. It can either be a tool directly involved in your craft (knitting needles or crochet hook) or something that makes your craft more pleasurable – be it a special lamp, or stitch markers.

So Here is mine, A took to Covet.

My sewing skills are near to zero but I loved to own a sewing machine for long long time.
Recently I bought one and it is my treasure tool.

I wish I could spend more time with my treasure tool and get to know all the possibilities it can offer.
Nevertheless, there should not be panic in hobby and when time comes, I’ll definitely will have happy hours with my machine.

Thanks,
Sangheetha.

Macrame

Hi All,

This is a crafty Challenge- challenged to learn myself a craft.
One of my friend wore a nice good looking bracelet. Only a few seconds it took and I found that it is a Macrame bracelet.

Macrame, I tried almost a year back with not so success. I tried with a thick thread(Malai Dori) and it was not forgiving.
The bracelet I made was not good and no idea where it is now.

This is what I made at that time.

2012-02-27_09.01.36

Now little more knowledge of threads & yarn, I managed to buy the thread which is commonly called Purse/Mobile thread and can be effectively used for Macrame.

Next is for the beads, I bought a set of beads from commercial street. They are glass & heavy, their heaviness gives a nice feel to the bracelet.

So I followed this tutorial but started of at one end and finished at the other. The finishing, I followed the tutorial and it really gives a neat look.
I twisted the thread while moving the beads and so it kinds of twists otherwise it is quite stable & does not turn on wearing.

So glad I could do a Macrame wearable bracelet.

And after a while, I made a Macrame Chain also with the same beads.
