As I had said here , Here is the wall hanging all done and hanging in the hall.
I backed them with Felt rounds to give more support and joined 3 tips of each flower along to make a garland so that they hang without being floppy and reversing.

Now that I am trying my hand on sewing. I have seen lots and lots of patterns and tutorials in the web.
But I don’t have fabric to try them so last friday I went and got some cotton printed fabrics.
Here they are…
I have marked so many things to do and I am making a list here for myself.
It will remind me the things I was eyeing for so many days.

Wristlets. Long back I have seen a wristlet which has 2 handles, one long and one short. The long one will be looped thru the shorter one and can be hung in hand.I want to make such a wristlet and thinking hard to make the pattern and stitch.

And one more, I am going to make this set() as well. Pillow cases and Bedspread !!. It’s not for me. For one of my friend.
I hope I will keep it as a surprise till I finish. B’coz I have no idea how long it will take or whether it will materialize at all.
Btw, I got the green yarn as well.. so soon I will finish the Japanese Flower Garland.
Last weekend we had a birthday celebration in our Apartment. The B’day girl is 3 yr old and She is in our next apartment.
I wanted to make something Handmade for her with her name or initials in it.
First I thot I’ll make a Drawstring bag, Crayons holder and a wristlet.
I bought fabric and everything and had a detailed plan in my mind.
Inbetween I thot of a small Applique( think so) in the centre and drew a small freehand design in the cloth.
I started embroidering it ( after a very long time, I took the needle). It was very simple one.
I quickly finished it and hemmed the edges.
Then made the simple drawstring bad.I used fusing for the stiffness and used 2 fabrics. One for outside nad one for lining.
Both are of same type.It took almost 2 hrs for me to make this simple bag. I wanted it to be neat and it is for gifting so I had to keep up with the time.
Then I bought some Rose colour satin ribbon, gathered it by handstitching and then machine stitched it to the embroidery.
I finished this in the afternoon only and the b’day celebration was in the evening. So no time to make the rest of the things.
So here is the bag and its close-up.

More Japanese Flowers
Some more japanese flowers made and it has come to a halt now. 😦
Because I ran out of the green yarn and I cannot proceed.
I have to shop and the nearest date that I could plan is 17th of this month.. It is really a big wait and I don’t have anything else to do in between..
Just trying my hand on sewing these days but crocheting can be done in between chores and sewing needs dedicated time. Hopefully I can make something.
Over the weekend, I tried my time in cooking as well.
We like crispy tasty snacks and so I was searching for Onion Samosa recipe in the web.
I came across this video of making onion samosa.
I tried and it came perfectly well.
It was all crispy outside and tasty onions & poha inside.
But next time, I would like to try by slightly frying the onions before stuffing.
Have a look at my samosas…
Oh Along with the cardomom tea…
With my Tea
And yes with a book.
Along with a book
Me & my husband are very ardent fans of Harry Potter series.. We have read the entire series many times and enjoy the book a lot.
It is not just a kids book, for anyone who is skeptical about reading a magical book, pls go ahead and start. You will be happy you did it.
I like sewing, it is faster than most of other crafts that I do like crochet or embroidery etc. But perfection in sewing seems to be a distant dream and very difficult to attain. I have a very basic sewing machine and I try things on that. And this is my recent trial.
It is not perfect, yeah but at least I was able to finish it.
Flat Bottom of Pencil Case
The main part was did by weaving different colors of satin ribbons, it is very easy and fun to do it.I used jute cloth ( from one of my old kurti ) for sides and lining and used a fusing for support.
Insides are spacious
I could not get any batting/sponge nearby so used only the fusing.
The pattern/tutorial is from here.
